New York Sour Diesel strain most often refers to the NYC Diesel strain, a sativa-dominant hybrid known for its energetic effects and pungent grapefruit and diesel aroma. Created by Amsterdam-based seed bank Soma Seeds in 1997, it is a different strain than the classic Sour Diesel.
Genetic lineage
NYC Diesel is the result of crossing a Mexican Sativa landrace with an Afghani landrace strain. It is a sativa dominant hybrid, with some sources listing it as approximately 60% sativa.
